1) Age / Location / Occupation
2) What real estate do you own?
3) What's your view on the market going forward? Buyer or seller? Which parts of the market?
4) Anything else?
1) 30+ / Vancouver CMA / Tech
2) 0
3) Bearish, buyer when owning makes sense financially.
4) Economics is a hobby. I'm a firm believer that objectively reading and contributing to posts and debates on online forums like these allow you absorb enough knowledge to beat the market.

I just logged in for the first time, and was interested to know about everyone here, namely:
1) Age / Location / Occupation
2) What real estate do you own?
3) What's your view on the market going forward? Buyer or seller? Which parts of the market?
4) Anything else?

I'll start:
1) 28 / Singapore (born & raised in Van) / Investment Banker
2) Just getting started....have a few condos in coal harbour...1100-1400sf
3) Quite bearish on the 'commoditized' downtown market e.g., sub 800sf Yaletown type of stuff....as well as the interest rate sensitive segment e.g., multi-tenant, entry level homes in subdivisions......bullish generally on vac'n properties and high end lots/homes.
4) I'm totally flabbergasted at people that mindlessly snap up crappy over-priced condos in less-than-desirable locations (all that new stuff they're building on seymour, richards and vicinity going for $500psf). When does the insanity end?

Take care
1) 34/Vancouver/VP of medical device startup
2) 1 bedroom townhouse in Fairview Slopes
3) Looking to upgrade to a larger townhouse in Fairview/Mount Pleasant. Waiting for prices to drop to something a bit more reasonable.
4) I think it is ridiculous that my wife and I have a combined income well over 100K and cannot afford a nice 2 bedroom place in Vancouver. While I agree people are willing to sacrifice somewhat to live in a city as beautiful as Vancouver, no city can justify people having to be stretched so thin.

I'm getting really sick of piano forums. You think bulls vs bears is heavy? Try Chopin vs Liszt!
Where are these piano forums? I'd love to check them out. I used to post on a rachmaninoff forum awhile back on yahoo-groups and that was pretty dry

Any recordings on youtube by chance? Would love to have a listen no matter the genre. I noodle around on the piano myself. here's one of my Grieg recordings:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxDdlwgBBtw

..... screwed it up which is precisely why i'm sticking to my day job!
That was impressive!

32/Vancouver/Visual Effects
1 house, Commercial Drive, 1 condo Gastown
No idea, that's why I'm here

Hello folks. I'm new here but a long time realtor and worshipper of all things BC.

Just an outstanding amount of information here and no shortage of people willing to, shall we say, express themselves? LOL!

Hope you all are well,

Tom

Hello world! :)

1) Age / Location / Occupation
- I am 40 / Vancouver / Science (Physics)
2) What real estate do you own?
- One bdr. in the West End
3) What's your view on the market going forward? Buyer or seller? Which parts of the market?
- We hope it is going down. Husband and I would like to buy a decent 2br/2bthr in the neighbourhood (West End) and to sell this one we own now.
4) Anything else?
- Something is seriously wrong when the two of us, who earn $110 k per year, can't afford a 2bdr condo. We do not owe anything except the mortgage for our 1bdr which we bought five years ago.
