I wouldnt mind that, but dipshits will still complain. Sadly it wont happen because the Chinese are economically evicting caucasian from Vancouver
I have confidence that Canadians will work out a COLLECTIVE solution. It's better to start early rather then too late.

I have part of the solution jimtan. But do you think the city has the balls to rezone the entire city?
It'll take a bold approach which city hall doesn't have much of a track record of.
He/she/it is just a noob and using the proverbial knee pads around that unlicenced steve and his unlicenced website

Interesting fact,

State of Newyork, on a $700,000 house property tax is around $19,000 a year.

I think lower property tax isn't factored into Vancouver housing prices when people compared to US

Thanks for the report Hara.

I think Burnaby market is in disconnect.  Like I mentioned a couple of months ago, the high end market is piling up and the sellers would probably blink.

7662 Kerrywood Cres was listed for $3.198M (maybe even higher if you look back further - don't have the info handy)- price drop or relisted to $2.98M.  Sold for $2.742M.

6280 Buchanan was listed much higher than $2.788M if my memory is correct - I think it started above $3M.  Sold for $2.66M.

Compare this with new houses in N Burnaby selling for north of $3M last year, lots selling for $2M..... something has to give... and there are still a lot of $3M homes in Burnaby that are looking for buyers with many more coming down the pipe.

Either way - awesome report!

Vancouver has the lowest property taxes in the nation, as low as 3 to 4 times
