Teacher's Strike - could housing prices come down?

Fri Jun 20, 2014 12:50 pm

I doubt it probably not but it's an interesting dilemma. Teachers on Strike and can't afford to pay their mortgages so they are forced to sell. Hmmm...
Silly union says they have no money but yet they advertise in the papers (unless they are getting it free) those ads are costly. Teachers should try to get summer jobs in the private sector and they they will realize how good they have it in their "union job". All the time they made striking could have made up in terms of salary for their cushy collective agreement. Welcome to the real world teach!!

Nah don't think this will do anything to housing prices though.

The Teacher's strike has already put a strain on the local food banks though, at least according to the news.
Freeloading teachers gotta go to the food bank now.

A week without their above average paychecks and they're lining up at the food bank?

And these clowns are teaching our children??? We're screwed!
In fond memory of Taipan, a model of modesty, decency, dignity and tolerance. Long may we all prosper from the tremendous legacy of worldly wisdom and specialized real estate knowledge which he left in the "Arguments" thread.

Robert James! Gawd! Why are you taking a "swing" at me? What did I do?
You should be happy and bouncing off the walls with your alleged gain. Why are you so irked???
...And I thought you said you would be back at the end of the year, why are you back so quickly just to jab at me?
You must be irritated at something.

I already told you to sell at the peak, see my quote April 16, 2014:
Whipmaster:
PTK $2.77 today.
Traded about 3 million shares...

Sell! Sell! Sell!.... it's gonna fall outta bed! F.A.W.K. :P
You were up big dough.
It's not my fault that the stock fell out of bed! I knew it would and I done tol' you!!!!!!!!!

It's still $1.50, you can still sell and make a tidy profit. But I guess that's not enough for you money junkie addicted gamblers. But you won't because you figure since it was $2.77, it "owes" you. Now you will never be able to sell.... you will lose it all.
Oh well, I warned you.... if you play in the Fawk Market you'll get Fawked.

It would seem to me that pulling doubles is a bit counter-productive and probably not that good for the eyesight either,, as it were.. Now was is it the Prods or the Romans that worried about their eye sight ?? Anyway be careful,, walking around the Couver with a white cane might not be that pleasant with all the slippery hazards on the side walks these days..

Teacher strike isn't great for RE prices, but plenty of great private schools in Vancouver / N Vancouver.
Redistribute consumption, not income.

PTK price quote today:
Price: $1.70 | Change: $-0.02 | %Change: -1.16% Volume: 250,198
....well it's up to $1.70 but now I get why you don't want to sell Robert James.......

....{{{{{{{{{drum roll}}}}}}}.....

....it's because the gain at this price won't make up for your losses when you take into account your other Fawk Market investments.
