Ranchers

Mon Apr 08, 2013 5:13 am

Due to health issues I would like to move from my 2 floor Richmond home into a rancher south of the Fraser but not too far into the valley. I am not to familiar with these areas and it seems ranchers aren't built very often anymore. My wife would like something new or almost new. Can anyone recommend any good neighbourhoods to live and invest in?

Ranchers / Bungalows are not built with the same frequency anymore becuase they require way larger lots to build a decent sized house. Building codes dictate that you can only have a certain percentage of building on a residential lot. So, if you take a 2000 sq/ft house as an example, if it was a single level home you would need a lot twice as large as a two store home that only has a 1000 sq/ft footprint, with another 1000sq/ft above it. Good luck in yur search..

All depends how much you are willing to spend for your next home.
$400,000? $600K? $800K? million?.. million+?

LOL
George Carlin once said "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

Hi Pal,

I would suggest moving to Murrayville area, or if you have the money, maybe somewhere in South Surrey.
