The Saudi's are playing an interesting game. It's fun to watch....... for a while.

I was gone three weeks and couldn't believe when I got back that the dollar had dropped to .83 cents.

Re: Why aren`t the cut-rate Realtors thriving...

Yes, the Sellers are cashing in big! But even still, a penny saved is a penny earned. You would think that this past go round would've been a good time for new outfits to crack the market. Do you think that when the market softens, the cut rate realtors would do better? :D My guess would be "maybe"...

Re: Why aren`t the cut-rate Realtors thriving...

We flipped a house about 6 months ago. Bought it from a 'discount realtor' because it was sitting near Fraser St and should have EASILY sold immediately but didn't. We reno'd it in 6 weeks and then sold it first weekend. The original sellers lost a ton of money trying to 'save' on the commission.

Re: Poll: Who is happy that they purchased real estate?

So, renting since 2007 would have been a better plan, huh? Yes, I bet ALL BC tenants invested their money for better returns than the landlords in this town. Whatever makes you guys feel better I guess. Do you guys have ANY idea how many condo sellers we've helped move up to a house because t...

Any politician who backs up their crap would put one in their neighbourhood. And when I say that, I mean close.

Still waiting. What a load of BS nimby-ism.

Re: Poll: Was anybody that stupid???

I just dread the day when he's right, whenever that might be. So many people on his site are going to come up with the "I told you so!" Great post, Rofina. By the time Garth is 'right' I will have known SO many people that have done so well over the last 15 yrs of Vancouver real estate I personally...

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

I'd have to see an offer so far above current market Assembling lots... what you should be doing is lobbying city councilors for a massive rezoning to row and stacked townhouse. The $ would be even higher. Ask Marpole. Agreed. But the problem is also neighbours. Just today I was at a showing. Acros...

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

Our buyers just lost out on a multiple offer on a 2000 sq ft lot house on the South side of Kingsway, just past Fraser. Back yard faced the commercial alley off Kingsway.

House was 1750 sq ft. 2 bed on main, 2 bed down. Sold for $30k over asking, ended up at $880!

Wow.

Re: Auction - Vancouver for Sale! Sold....to China!

My daughter brought a friend over from her school, a new girl in grade 5. Her father lives in China and works with a company specializing in children's camps. He flies here as much as he can and the family goes back twice a year. Not every Chinese family who comes here is stinking rich. Many just wa...
