Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

had the same thought scooby. I don't think JT is as concerned about climate change as he is about people buying around the Canada line. JT wants people to take transit, not cycle - he especially wants them to decide all other kinds of transit suck except the Canada line. If they start going AWOL and...

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

agree and agree, WCF.

I takes me 5 minutes longer to bike to work than transit, but that's only because I'm a slow cyclist/take my time on the hills.

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

JT, there are bike lanes and streets, with very few to no drivers on them.

Also, the bus is much better - skytrain/canada line doesn't allow bikes on board during peak travel times because of all the bodies stuffed inside. Buses, however, can take bikes any time.

it's AC on all the lines, JT, not that you know apparently - makes no difference if people are packed in like sardines.

Looking forward to my ride home this afternoon

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

Agree with WCF. Biking is exploding in this city. JimTan, nice try but I bike all year around - last winter I saw the most cyclists I've ever seen on the lanes at that time of year. All you need is rain gear. Biking in the rain in is fun :P Based on that, I think there will be even more this winter.

IR you forgot the other rule. Humans are slaves to their hormones. When that cortisol is flowin', everyone's freakin' even if they don't need to.

we are totally irrational.

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

TOTAL listings 12,000? wow.

i've noticed a shift in the realtor flyers I'm getting, there's the usual chinese-orientated, canadian and italian, but recently - iranian-canadian realtors have started targetting my 'hood.

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

I agree eyes. anecdotal story: someone we know sold their place around victoria because they want to move to the heights, but are having a hard time buying in due to the price escalation

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

the word on the street is that the market is moving so fast that if you sell your SFH, you risk not being able to buy back in again quickly enough. Houses that were 1mill in my area are now on for 1.4

It's crazy, I don't even look at MLS any more.
