Re: The Money Pit Tax

So it looks like the numbers are coming in quite a bit lower than predicted! The city won't even give us a straight answer on how many properties actually have to pay the tax.  I'm guessing the Empty Homes Tax will not break even this year. The city has to lie about the numbers and say 8500 empty o...

Re: The Money Pit Tax

"The number of “under-occupied” homes in Vancouver has almost doubled in the past 15 years, from 12,885 to 25,495 dwellings, according to census data. So it looks like the numbers are coming in quite a bit lower than predicted! The city won't even give us a straight answer on how many properti...

Re: Trends for 2018

Another year.  Seeing some familiar names pop up around here. Glad to see you all still alive and aggravating each other as always.  Hard to believe its been a decade since the last real correction around here.  What do you all see for 2018?  Little late in the year - spring seems to be off to a la...

Re: 3 Reasons Canadian Mortgage Rates Will Never Hit 5%

Yah - that’s not how it works. I hope you ready for .75% increase in 2018 because we are trending that way. Also I was initially commenting on the fact that BOC overnight rate usually decrease with an increase in the Canadian dollar to make our exports more affordable. Don't believe take economics ...

Re: 3 Reasons Canadian Mortgage Rates Will Never Hit 5%

Yep - 4/5 banks predict a rate increase this month.  The other in April. Let’s go with hara and ETB’s prediction....LOL All I'm saying is when the economy is strong and our dollar's value increases the government tends to lower the BOC over night rate to keep the dollar in check.  This is typically...

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

We are reaching a point now where people don't know what to think.  With all the promises that both the NDP and Green party made everyone is sitting on there hands again like the did when the %15 tax was put in.  Now is the opperunity to pick up something where the seller are getting desperate to se...

Re: Thoughts on homes w/ polybulytene ?

Hi These pipes (grey in color) are notorious for degrading and failing. The horrible thing about these pipes is you won't notice the leak until they have caused lots of damage because they usually start leaking slowly.  Usually you won't have a catastrophic failing like an exploding...

Re: Are interest rates finally going to rise?

Im not sure if will be disasterous, but it will have an effect.  I think the bigger problem will be the NDP provincial policies Which specific policies do you think will be a problem? [font=Ca...
