Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

Good for translink to handle the situation well this time as they should; consider how many major service problems they had in past years and how badly they handled it. There is key difference between BCHydro and Translink problem. This windstorm is natural disaster that effects 710k people in mass ...

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

You hate Mayor Sunshine because he is a doer and a celebrity. :!: Does anyone give Translink any credit? "TransLink responded well to Vancouver windstorm Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson has called extreme weather events the "new normal". And it appears that TransLink responded reasonably well to t...

Re: No Kitchen Sink P-trap in new Condo?

It could be done in purpose. I mean my strata was talking about remove all the garburators in the building because some unit's drain pipe got clogged and the engineer strata hired suggested it. Besides there is also organic recycling coming to GVA.

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

Translink should either bite the bullet and remove the compass system, it is stupid that it cost 12 million a year to run when fare evasion is 10 million a year. I always wonder how do translink expect people always tap the card when they ride the skytrain. Are trankslink police going to carry hand ...

Re: What now? Transit referendum says 'Non'

I hate to take Canada line after 7pm because it is 12 min/train from Richmond bridge house to Waterfront. (6min/train from bridgeport to waterfront.) I usually end up take either 430 directly to Metrotown or 410 to 22rd station than skytrain to Metrotown. walk score for my street is 96 and transit s...

JT doesn't seem aware that NB has malls, doctors, restaurants, dentists, vets, pubs etc in walking distance I know, what can you do? Its arguably one of the most walkable and contained neighbourhoods in the LM. My house has a walkscore (https://www.walkscore.com/CA-BC/Burnaby) of 87... Some people ...

Re: Mayor Sunshine - Vancouver’s problem is empty homes

Not really news thou. I remember CBC reported the situation back in 2013 as small stores in coal harbor area closed down because they didn't have customers to support the business as all the real estates were owned by foreign owner whom don't live in Vancouver. City will end up tear down those busin...

Re: #donthave1million

Real estate markets are local - and I don't think the overseas cash buyers are in any way deterred by higher rates. They aren't borrowers. I won't be sure about that. While it is true a lot of oversea buyers purchase home with cash. I also know there are people use mortgage from Canadian bank to pu...

Re: why condos aren't good investments

Re: Who benefits most from Yes Vote?

What upsets me is the COMPASS card fiasco. $100 million budget. Now at almost $200 million ..and no signs of it being completed. Will we end up writing it off? What a waste! That is my problem as well because that is 200M could have spend on new Buses and skytrains. Not to mention it cost 12M a yea...

Not surprise of some of "2015 Store Closings - Complete List of U.S. Retailers Closing Stores, Downsizing Chains, and Retail Company Bankruptcies" lists. Some of them such as office depot, staples and radio shack are out dated and can't compete with online retails. However.. Isn't Target Canada bank...
