If they're going to punish us, why not pulling back on Vancouver investment? We just sent out a signal that we're going to arrest Chinese folks with grey money.

 Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Capital and Nanaimo Regional Districts and Kelowna and West Kelowna

I wonder what impact this tax will have on markets outside these areas.

Yeah, we've done nothing.  If anything, we've let things slide!

I have an assessment on a detached house that went from 215K to 315K in building value.    That's just crazy, especially considering our building should be depreciating in value. Did building costs really increase that much?  Talk about insane inflation.. I'm thinking about appealing, as I don't rel...

It's all very context dependent.  If the seller agent isn't going to much involved beyond putting up a sign and listing on the mls, than yeah, I can see where you might want to save on commission.  Especially if your equity is particularly low.

I was wondering, any sales on the other side of where the fixed link to the sunshine coast is being proposed?  (Anvil Island, etc)

Sales would indicate land speculators that might know something.   Lack of sales would indicate something as well.

Whats even more interesting is all those bubble callers if they focused on the real culprit (foreign money) they might have been able to start a political movement to stop it. However, by saying it was all local money nobody tried to do anything.
