Heads Up.

Global TV just had a segment on foreigners buying pre-sale en mass and flipping. Even showed an interview with our Steve Saretsky. About time that he received recognition. Chris Gallus looked very uncomfortable.

Now that there's a new regime, could be a high priority to root out the bad business practices from Asia. Not being racists. Just a fact.

Let's fook those muthers. Making money over the misery of the young and poor. Slimebags :!:

Then, there is the battle of the pipelines. Immigration to BC is likely to slow due to high RE prices and slowing projects.

New B.C. government would have a few tools to slow down construction of new oil export pipeline..."

Read all about it...

"Why a Provincial Canadian Vote Matters for Business

... The New Democrats and Greens agree on taking action to deal with the “speculation and fraud” that is driving up Vancouver home prices, the highest in Canada. In its election platform, the NDP sought a 2 percent “speculator’s tax.” In Vancouver, the cost of a typical detached house has surged to C$1.83 million, or more than 20 times median household income. While B.C. has led Canada in economic growth and job creation, there are indications that it’s been inordinately fueled by real estate and household debt. Clark has already imposed a 15 percent tax on foreign buyers. More measures to cool the market seem likely..."

Meanwhile, Legislature meets June 22. Christy wants to go down fighting. Hope that there will be another election. NDP/Green electoral pact could give NDP a majority.   :!:

Christy quit from politics. She's cunning. So, probably means that she doesn't think that the BC Liberals can win in the next few years. Why?

Where are they going to get enough donations, after corporate donations are banned.

I'm sure the Liberals are forcing her out, this is the best time to get rid of her and start with a fresh face, the longer they wait the harder it is to start fresh, especially after she flip flopped and you can pretty much single handedly blame her for the loss.
I think the Liberals are conceding that the NDP are in for at least the next 6 months to a year or maybe they can hang on longer.  Which give the Liberals lots of time to hold a byelection and replace Christy in a safe riding, then put a fresh face in the leadership, then see what happens...maybe the NDP lose an MLA (someone resigns or dies or whatever), then there is an opening to force an election.  The longer Christy stuck around the longer worse it is for the Liberals.

There's always a blowback when things get out of whack. The risk in Vancouver is that the left wing gets voted into power. Here's a nutter like Jean Swanson who's talking about a rent freeze...

“Independent council candidate Jean Swanson offers to donate $41,000 of her salary if she's elected”

http://www.straight.com/news/943371/ind ... ry-if-shes

Don't dismiss her completely. Socialist solutions can work for a time...

“Vienna Model experts join Vancouverites in roundtable to discuss practical policy-making for social housing”

http://www.straight.com/news/929916/vie ... icy-making

Problem today is that the horror stories have spread to Toronto.

“Renting in Toronto Is a Total Nightmare”

More anti-foreign policies...

Something worth noting...
