You cant just show up and bid on something like this without knowing the full scope of the area. It may be that the area has 99% unemployment or that the Park requirements havent been met in adjacent areas and the District cant buy the Park parcels because they are a portion (but not all) of this site.
See the river there? Fisheries might have a hardon for that site. What about sewer? I dont see anything remtely close by to trunk into...Lots of crop fields nearby too (and we already know how familiar you are with the ALR here) Do you have to build your own interchange to access the site from the freeway? What about the airport there ? Who wants to live in that noise? This may be a weird zoning as well, in fact I would bet on it, Potential could mean 100years from now.

Values for mortgagee purposes was $12m. EG at the time they lent the money, a valuer accepted by one of the 4 major banks put $12m on it.

Bank lent 33%. Market turns against them in 2008. Borrower defaults because sales in other estates plunge. Goes to auction - 1 bid. 10% of value. $1.2m

Oh and to spice it up, narrow coastal plain just like vancouver with supposedly limited supply.

Why not put this subject to sleep permanently by taking a minute or two to describe the "contexts" which made your statements acceptable. I'm a reasonable guy so if you can't remember exactly what made them acceptable observations for a non-racist like you perhaps you can just list ANY circumstance which would make these comments acceptable.

You are right, Taipan clearly has major issues and I happily admit that I have issues with racist bigots like Taipan, as most decent people should.

He also makes sweeping judgements based on about 5%, but in his case the 5% is always the colour of a person's skin.

Maybe the 5% sampling has worked for you when judging forum threads, real estate purchases, lottery numbers and other things but hopefully you don't apply it to race, it really doesn't work there.

Semven obviously knows a lot about real estate development, has a keen sense of humour and simply states things as he sees them. Can't say I've noticed any unusual "issues" there but thank you for your broad ranging assessment, even if you do admit to being unaware of 95% of the content you have passed judgement on.

Well.... I guess a lot of other people are curious as well. An average of over 200 hits a day suggests some interest in seeing Taipan taken to task over his twisted view of the world and of genetics in particular. I must confess I do get a kick out of watching him twist and turn and dig himself in deeper as he tries to convince us he's not a racist - despite the mountain of evidence against him.
